Minority Certifications

Agrobrasilia is a state and federally certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). As a member of the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC), our company is uniquely positioned to promote and market its services to prospective corporate buyers who are looking to build relationships with trusted minority-owned businesses.

From reinforcing corporate values and objectives to meeting compliance requirements of federal/state/local government customers and contracts to receiving tax incentives for MBE-subcontracted work, these policies have both intangible and economic benefits to the corporation. Additionally, large corporations have found that increased supplier diversity has been instrumental in pursuing diversity accomplishments, which in turn have strengthened brand identity and marketing efforts.

National Minority Supplier Diversity Council

Most of America’s largest public and privately owned global companies, including an overwhelming majority of the FORTUNE 500, are members of the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC). The NMSDC is the global leader in advancing business opportunities for its certified Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American business enterprises and connecting them to member corporations.

Through this partnership, corporations are shaping the global supply diversity landscape by sourcing MBEs for their service and vendor needs. In conjunction with the NMSDC, these corporations have put in place supplier diversity requirements, mandates and policies, in order to increase the number of MBEs they source. Not only are these corporations implementing these policies, they are also dramatically increasing their overall diversity spend requirements

SUGAR MILLING AND ETHANOL MANUFACTURING FOR DISTRIBUTION

The milling of sugar produces raw sugar and also by-products such as molasses, which is used as livestock feed additive and to produce ethanol. Agrobrasilia’s partners operate their own sugar milling operations in a cost effective manner.

The mills generate their own electricity by burning bagasse – the fibrous material leftover from crushed sugarcane. Besides generating renewable electricity, Agrobrasilia’s partners have been a supplier of industrial ethanol for several decades.

Through molasses distilling, another by-product from milling, a renewable fuel in the form of bioethanol is produced. Agrobrasilia sells the manufactured remnant fertilizer and we operate a small agency interest for chemicals, solvents and food ingredients.

Results of our sugar milling operations are seasonal, with most of the milling revenue generated in the third and fourth quarters of the year, which is when the sugarcane crop is harvested and the milling operations take place.

ETHANOL FERMENTED FERTILIZERS

We are distributors of an environmentally responsible fertilizer from ethanol fermentation. We are also proponents in the use of ethanol as a sustainable fuel.

Our manufacturing partners areISO-certified suppliers, who ensure strict quality controls at every stage of the manufacturing and delivery process. We have access to onsite and external testing laboratories as required.

We are guided by a set of values that defines who we are and the way we work. With integrity and safety at the core of these values, we strive to minimize our environmental impact and ensure the safety of our employees. Our approach to safety is guided by our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy.
